The whiskey has been matured in second fill barrels and as such the character of the distillery distillate is more prominent than that of the barrel/oak. The color is also a pale straw color as a result of this. It has a familiar taste with varying degrees of spice, citrus fruits, some orchard fruits like red apple, honey, lemons, pears, pineapple, sweet malty biscuity character, aniseed which give a confectionary sweetness, boiled sweets and a lingering dry finish.
