Altavia is one of the top producers of Rossese. Their vineyards date back to the 1970s, and as well as Rossese they vinify southern French and other Ligurian grapes, such as Syrah, Carignano and a Vermentino plus Viognier blend. There’s even an obscure bottling of Touriga Nacional (watch this space), which has to be described as uve internazionali because Portuguese grape Touriga isn’t permitted under Italian appellation rules.
