Descrizione
Antídoto is Spanish for “antidote,” and this wine is an antidote to both over-the-top winemaking and exorbitant prices often found in Ribera del Duero. French winemaker Bertrand Sourdais identified the eastern, high-altitude, organic vineyards of Soria as the place to make elegant, perfumed expressions of Tempranillo. He employs long, gentle macerations for minimal extraction and never uses new oak.
The result? Classic dried cranberry, rhubarb and torrefaction aromas. Rich and savory fruit texture with a plush mouthfeel and velvety tannins yet strong spine of acidity due to intense diurnal temperature swings. Roasted coffee lingers on the finessed finish.
